The Vango Helvellyn 300 is a 3-person backpacking tent.
Review Score
We've based our review on our experience with the Vango Mirage 300 but adjusted for the specifications of the Helvellyn 300, which is slightly smaller and has a lower hydrostatic head.<br/>Despite a lower HH, this is a great tent for the money.
Our Score: 8.7/10
We've given the Helvellyn 300 the Thumbs Up award.

Our Review
The Vango Helvellyn 300 is the same layout as the older Vango Mirage 300 we've been using.
It comes with a handy two-door porch, complete with optional groundsheet. We found this makes a great space to store bags and muddy boots, but with the doors open, also provides good ventilation and a useful place to sit to get out of bad weather.
Pitching is straightforward, with the flexible alloy tent poles forming a semi-geodesic dome. This gives enough head-height for most adults to sit up in (110 cm).
Pitching is outer first.
Unless it's wet, we tend to keep the inner tent attached to the tent. Obviously removing it will mean a smaller pack size if you are sharing the load between people.
Although this is a three-person tent, it's a lot more comfortable with just two people :-)
